About 250 residents attended workshops and a back-to-school pep rally sponsored by state Rep. Tony Payton Jr. at the school. More than two dozen people took advantage of free dental checkups. Almost 200 book bags, 2,000 pencils, 300 pens, 250 spiral notebooks and loads of other school supplies along with McDonald’s gift cards and gift cards for Cramer’s Uniforms on Frankford Avenue. Payton aide Dafney Tales said more book bags will be distributed this week outside the representative’s office on the 4500 block of Frankford Ave. All the school supplies were donated by individuals, organizations and local companies, she said.
