Bandit robs CVS store

Philadelphia police on Tuesday released surveillance video in hope of identifying the armed bandit who robbed a CVS Pharmacy in Burholme on Aug. 6.

No injuries were reported in the gunpoint heist at 7350 Oxford Ave. in which an unspecified amount of prescription drugs were stolen.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the store at 9:40 p.m., climbed over the pharmacy counter in the rear, pointed a handgun at a clerk and demanded access to the safe. The employee complied with his demands. The robber fled the store in an unknown direction.

The bandit was described as white, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, with a husky build. He has brown or “greenish” eyes and wore a black baseball hat with lettering on the front and a light-colored brim, a red bandana covering his face, a black long-sleeve Eagles shirt, dark gloves and light blue jeans. He carried a black handgun.
