Fatal fall from fence, shooting victim named

An ill-fated attempt at climbing a fence resulted in the death of a man in Frankford on Sept. 4.

Authorities have not released the name of the 26-year-old victim, who was found dead between two fences along the Aramingo Avenue on-ramp to Interstate 95, police said. Philadelphia’s medical examiner determined that the man broke his neck in a fall while climbing one of the fences.

In an unrelated case, a man was found dead in woods near the 1100 block of Adams Ave. in Northwood on Sept. 3. Police identified the man as Kris Herold, 27, and said he had been shot fatally in the head.

The Philadelphia Inquirer on Tuesday reported that Herold was active in the city’s transgender community and used the name Kyra Kruz. The paper said Herold recently took the surname Cordova.

Anyone with any information on the victim should contact the homicide unit at 215–686–3334.••
