Man sought in dozen drug store robberies

Rite Aid Corp. and the Citizens Crime Commission have posted a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man suspected of a dozen gunpoint robberies of Northeast pharmacies since last December.

The same robber is also a suspect in similar heists at a local 7-Eleven and a Delaware County pharmacy during the same 10-month period.

The most recent robbery occurred on Sept. 29 at the Rite Aid at 12311 Academy Road. The suspect arrived at about 6 a.m., pointed a gun at employees and demanded prescription pills. The bandit took multiple pill containers and fled the store, running eastbound on Byberry Road. He wore a white mask, a red baseball cap with a black brim, a long-sleeve black shirt, gloves, jeans and dark shoes.

Chester Pike, Glenolden (Sept. 4).

The robber has been described as white or Hispanic, in his 20s, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, with a thin or medium build. He often wears a white scarf to cover his face, but has been described as having blond hair and blue or light-colored eyes. He was seen exiting a 2001–2007 Chevy Trailblazer prior to the Jan. 25 robbery.
