A car struck and killed a 78-year-old man on Bustleton Avenue in Rhawnhurst on Sunday.
Police did not release the identity of the victim, who was attempting to cross the 7300 block of Bustleton Ave. midblock when a southbound 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis struck him at about 5:15 p.m., said Philadelphia police Sgt. Joseph Rossa of the Accident Investigation Division.

The victim suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene as authorities arrived. No criminal charges have been filed. The accident remains under police investigation. ••
