Hardy-Har Harvest comedy night is Saturday

The Grey Lodge Pub’s Hardy-Har Harvest on Saturday night will feature plenty of beer and laughter.

The event will kick off at 6 p.m. with at least nine draft beers being served.

The free comedy show starts at 8.

“You can start drinking at six and laughing at eight,” said comedienne Nicole Yates.

Yates, of Port Richmond, will be among five entertainers. The others will be Erin Mulville, John Kensil, Benny Michaels and James Hesky, who was recently crowned Philly’s Phunniest Person by Helium Comedy Club.

“It should be a good mix. Everyone there has their own style,” said Mulville, of Mayfair.

The Grey Lodge is located at 6235 Frankford Ave.

Owner Mike “Scoats” Scotese has developed a draft list that includes Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere Harvest Ale; Great Divide Harvest Ale; Harpoon Harvest; Long Trail Harvest Ale; Ommegang Scythe & Sickle; Philly Harvest From the Hood; Abita Pecan Harvest; Victory Harvest Ale; and Victory Harvest Pils.

“The comedy is free; the beers aren’t,” Yates said. “Scoats is always looking to try new and fun things to do. The comedy will have a little bit of something for everybody. It’s the weekend before Halloween. It should be a great night to come out and celebrate the holiday.”

Mulville, who has been in the comedy business for three years, once hosted open-microphone nights at the Grey Lodge. Those nights went well, and she expects Saturday to be a good time.

“It should be an awesome time,” she said. “The Lodge is a great beer bar. It’s an awesome place to hang out. It’s my spot.” ••
