Frankford residents can have a brush with art on Thursday, Nov. 8, at St. Mark’s Church, 4442 Frankford Ave.
The city’s Mural Arts program is inviting residents to help artist Cesar Viveros paint the final parts of a mural that will be installed at Kensington and Frankford avenues later in November. Participants can also view “Transformation 19124,” an art exhibit, from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibition is sponsored by Flying Kite Media.
Viveros has installed two other murals in the “Imagining Frankord” series at Kensington and Frankford. Neighborhood residents have already taken part in two “paint days” in August. The murals aren’t painted directly onto the walls, but on cloth that is affixed to the walls.
In the spring, a fourth mural is slated to go up a few blocks north on Frankford Avenue, facing St. Mark’s.
