Hardware store bandit on the loose

Police are looking for a man who robbed an Oxford Circle hardware store on Oct. 20.

The man entered the Ken Building Hardware Supply store on the 6600 block of Castor Ave. at about 5:25 p.m., police said. He pulled a box cutter on an employee and demanded cash. He fled south on Castor after taking money from a cash register.

Police said the clean-shaven man was stocky and stood 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He wore a gray hooded sweat shirt with the word Northwood on its front and dark pants. Police said the man is Hispanic, possibly Mexican.
