Samantha Cella is a valued employee at Academy Injury and Health Center, where she works every Wednesday.

Owner Deneen McCaffery said that the Special People In Northeast client brings sunshine and excitement to the work place.

“It’s been great,” McCaffery said. “Sammy is part of our team. She does an amazing job. She is so dedicated to her job.”

Cella and McCaffery recently attended a Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting, sponsored by SPIN and held at the human service agency’s Norcom Community Center.

SPIN CEO Kathleen Brown McHale and Andrea Davies, the agency’s assistant director of employment services, spoke about the benefits of interns at job sites.

Cella has been at Academy Injury and Health Center, at 10431 Academy Road, for two months. She places papers in folders, shreds, files, greets patients, organizes the reception area and puts together patient information packets. She’ll also represent the company at an upcoming health fair at Crown Holdings.

The breakfast crowd also heard about the contributions and success stories of SPIN clients at University Services, Spring School of the Arts and Mastery Charter School.

In other SPIN news, more than 20 local vendors will offer holiday gift ideas at Norcom Community Center, 10980 Norcom Road, on Friday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 9 p.m. The cost is $20 and includes food and wine and beer sampling.
