Just days after Philadelphia police warned the public about a child predator roaming Frankford streets, another creep accosted a girl near her Oxford Circle elementary school.
The latest incident occurred Nov. 19 at about 8 a.m. on Summerdale Avenue near Benner Street as the 14-year-old victim was walking to Carnell elementary school.
The girl reported to police that a man driving a blue Toyota sedan stopped near her and repeatedly offered her a ride. The girl refused the offer, then ran to a crossing guard for help as the man drove southbound on Summerdale Avenue.
The man was described as about 40 years old and possibly of Asian-Indian descent. He had long dark hair and wore a maroon and gold jacket.
Police have drawn no connection between the Oxford Circle case and four similar incidents that occurred between Nov. 5 and 15 near Harding Middle School in Frankford.
In the Frankford cases, the victims were identified as three boys and one girl, ages 11 to 13. All attend Harding. All four incidents occurred between 3:30 and 5:30Â p.m.
Call the police department’s special victims unit at 215–685–3252 to report information about any of the cases. ••
