Lawncrest Civic plans Dec. 18 holiday party

The Lawncrest Community Association will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at St. William parish hall, at Argyle and Robbins streets.

Doors open at 6 p.m.

The LCA will hold a Christmas party with food trays, cookies, soda and music.

The guest speakers will be from the 2nd Police District. There will also be reports on zoning issues and from Lawncrest Town Watch, the Lawncrest 4th of July Committee, the Lawncrest Recreation Center Advisory Board and the city managing director’s office.

Guests are asked to bring canned and dried goods for needy senior citizens during the holidays.

Donations also can be dropped off through Dec. 31 at Lawncrest Library, 6098 Rising Sun Ave., and Lawncrest Recreation Center, 6000 Rising Sun Ave.

Items collected will be turned over to the Lawncrest branch of the Salvation Army for its senior meal program.

The food drive is sponsored by the LCA, PhillyRising and the office of City Councilwoman Marian Tasco. ••
