Philadelphia police are searching for a man who allegedly broke into a Mayfair house and used a victim’s credit card at a nearby gas station last week.

The break-in occurred between 10 p.m. on May 27 and 2 a.m. the following morning while the victims were asleep inside their home on the 3000 block of Guilford St. The unknown burglar took numerous credit cards, laptop computers and keys.

Shortly after 2 a.m., the victims received a telephone call from a credit card company stating that their card had been used to make a purchase at the 7-Eleven at 3301 Tyson Ave. Police recovered surveillance video from the store that showed a man allegedly using the stolen card at a gas pump.

Police describe a man of unknown race, 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium build, wearing a dark hooded jacket and dark pants. He was operating an older maroon four-door sedan. To view video of the burglar, visit the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube.com.

To report information about the case, call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPD TIP. To report the immediate whereabouts of the burglar, call 911. ••
