More than $20K stolen in home invasion

Three armed robbers stole more than $20,000 in cash and jewelry from a Fox Chase family after breaking into a park-side home on Monday morning.

The bandits used duct tape to bind four victims, including a 24-year-old man, a 26-year-old woman, a 50-year-old woman and a 5-year-old boy, police said. The victims, who are Asian, described the assailants as three Korean men.

The crime occurred at about 9:30 a.m. at a twin home on the 1100 block of Tabor Plaza, a cul-de-sac bordering on Pennypack Park. The sleeping victims were awaken when the gunmen burst through a rear door and demanded money at gunpoint, police said. After obtaining the cash, jewelry and “personal documents,” the robbers fled in an unknown direction. The victims reported no injuries.

One robber was described as 35 years old, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He was clean-shaven and has a tattoo on one of his upper arms. He wore dark clothes and carried a dark handgun. The other two robbers were both described as 25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 140 pounds with dark clothing.
