Woman allegedly assaulted in Frankford appliance store

Philadelphia police reportedly arrested a man on Sunday after he allegedly pulled a woman into a Frankford appliance store and assaulted her sexually.

Authorities did not respond to messages seeking comment on the case. But according to published and broadcast reports, the incident occurred at Torresdale Appliance on the 4500 block of Torresdale Ave. at about 5 a.m.

The 33-year-old victim reportedly was outside the store when a man grabbed her and pulled her inside, where he assaulted her. The woman was able to free herself and call 911 for help, according to news reports.

When police arrived, the suspect was still inside the store and may have barricaded himself. SWAT officers entered the store and arrested him at about 5:30 a.m. The victim reportedly was taken to a hospital for treatment, then released.

Philadelphia police did not return calls seeking the name of the suspect nor the charges against him. ••
