Father Judge High School has announced the hiring of James Lynch — and not James Murphy, as printed in the June 12 edition of the Northeast Times — as the school’s new athletic director beginning on July 17.
According to a news release issued by Judge principal Rev. James Dalton, Lynch will arrive from the Boston Public School System. Lynch currently serves as Assistant Dean of Students, Academic Advisor and teacher for Boston Public Schools. Before he took that position, Lynch was a coach, teacher, Department Chair and Director of Athletics at Cathedral High School in Boston.
Though he is coming from Massachusetts, Lynch has educational ties to the area. He received his Master of Science in Sports Management from Neumann University in Aston, Delaware County, and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Saint Joseph’s University.
Lynch will replace former athletic director Ed Evanitsky. Brother Jim Williams is serving as Judge’s interim AD until Lynch arrives next month, according to Dalton.
