An Academy Gardens man has been arrested for allegedly using the Internet to share sexually graphic images of children.
Gary Toro, 25, of the 9200 block of Outlook Ave., was charged with two counts of distributing child pornography, two counts of possessing child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility. The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office announced the arrest last Friday.
According to a criminal complaint, agents were investigating online child pornography when they found numerous files containing depictions of children under age 18 engaged in sexually graphic acts and poses. The agents identified Toro as the individual “sharing” those photos, authorities said. Agents arrested him on June 11. A search of Toro’s residence resulted in the confiscation of a laptop computer, which will be analyzed forensically.
Toro was freed on June 12 after posting 10 percent of $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 27. ••
