A serial bank robber struck for the sixth time in two months when he targeted a Wells Fargo branch in Rockledge last Wednesday, according to the FBI.

Investigators don’t know the man’s identity, but believe he has robbed two Northeast Philly banks, two in Cheltenham Township and another in Huntingdon Valley since May 15.

Last Wednesday, the robber entered the Wells Fargo at 620 Huntingdon Pike at about 10:17 a.m., announced a robbery, ordered employees and patrons to raise their hands, pointed a small silver handgun at a teller and demanded money. He obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot. He was last seen scaling a fence and running west of the bank through residential yards.

The robber was described as black or possibly Hispanic, between 5 feet 2 inches and 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a thin build. He wore a dark mask or scarf to conceal much of his face, along with a gray hooded sweatshirt with a black Nike logo near the left chest and shoulder area. He also wore dark pants with a yellow stripe down the sides, off-white gloves and sneakers.

The earlier robberies occurred at PNC Bank, 6855 Frankford Ave., on May 15; Wells Fargo, 6611 Castor Ave., on May 23; Sovereign Bank, 500 Central Ave., Cheltenham, on May 28 and June 13; and Wells Fargo, 2560 Huntingdon Pike, Huntingdon Valley, on June 19.

Call the FBI at 215–641–8910 to report information about the case. ••
