Philadelphia police on Friday announced the arrest of an Oxford Circle man in the shooting deaths of two people inside a Northeast home on Aug. 6.
Darren Williams, 24, of the 800 block of Anchor St., allegedly used a shotgun to murder Lauren Fenningham, 18, and Sean Neal, 24, inside Neal’s residence on the 2800 block of Sebring Road.
Police went to Neal’s home at 1:38 a.m. on Aug. 6 in response to a report of a man with a gun. When they arrived, officers found Fenningham and Neal in the living room. Fenningham, of the 3400 block of Princeton Ave., had head wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Neal was wounded in the abdomen and taken to Aria Health-Torresdale, where he died shortly after 5 p.m.
Detectives identified Williams as a suspect in the double homicide and located him at his residence last Thursday, where they arrested him without incident. Williams is charged with two counts of murder, possessing an instrument of crime and multiple weapons possession offenses. As a former convict, he is not eligible to possess a gun.
Police do not know the motive for the killings. Williams remains in jail and is ineligible for bail because he is charged with a capital offense. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 28. ••
