A 36-year-old Castor Gardens woman died early Sunday of injuries she received in a two-car accident involving a vehicle that was traveling northbound in the southbound center lanes of the 7400 block of the Roosevelt Boulevard.
Alesha Taylor of the 1200 block of Stirling Street was pronounced dead at 3:44 a.m. Sunday, police said. She had a laceration of her liver.
According to police, a 2001 Buick Park Avenue headed north in the southbound lanes collided with a 2003 Mazda MPV in which Taylor was a passenger at about 2:36 a.m. Sunday.
The Mazda’s driver and two passengers were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center. The driver, a 33-year-old man, had a broken femur and possible head injuries, police said. Taylor, whose injuries initially were listed as minor, and a 3-year-old girl, also with minor injuries, were taken to Einstein, too.
The Buick’s 23-year-old driver was taken to Aria Health’s Frankford campus with a dislocated hip. Her passenger, a female of unknown age, was taken to the same hospital with a broken pelvis, police said.
As of Monday afternoon, there were no arrests or charges, police said.
