An 83-year-old Bustleton man was among 17 alleged “Johns” rounded up by Philadelphia police in prostitution stings throughout the city last week.
Adam Herbert, 83, of the 9700 block of Cowden St., allegedly offered to pay cash to a would-be hooker in exchange for sex shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 at an undisclosed location in the city. The streetwalker was actually an undercover cop, who arrested Herbert on the spot.
The police department’s Citywide Vice Unit set up similar stings on Oct. 8, 9 and 11 in the Northeast’s 15th Police District, the 24th and 26th districts in the River Wards and the 3rd district in South Philly.
Two other Northeast men were among those arrested: Donny Scott, 34, of the 1200 block of Friendship St. in Castor Gardens; and Sadat Tyrone Farlow, 29, of the 500 block of Magee Ave. in Lawndale.
Police seized $4,849 cash from the men, along with seven automobiles and two bicycles. ••
