Man critical after shooting

A man was hospitalized in critical condition following a shooting on a Frankford street corner early Monday.

The gunfire occurred at 12:25 a.m. at Griscom and Arrott streets. A 28-year-old man suffered two wounds to his right side, according to police. He remains in critical condition at Temple University Hospital. Authorities have not released his name.

The victim described two assailants to police. Both are black men. One wore a light-colored T-shirt, dark pants and a red hat. The other wore dark clothing. They fled in a white Pontiac sedan, possibly southbound on Frankford Avenue.

A motive is not known. Television station NBC10 broadcast images of police tagging what appeared to be drug vials littering the sidewalk at the scene.
