Darryl Vance
Undercover police arrested a 17-year-old girl and her alleged pimp during a prostitution sting at a Northeast Philadelphia motel on Thursday.
Members of the Citywide Vice unit made initial contact with the girl by responding to an advertisement on a Web page notorious for its prostitution-related listings, police said.
A “decoy” officer called the telephone number in the ad and arranged to meet the prostitute in Room 156 of the Roosevelt Motor Inn, 7600 Roosevelt Blvd., at 10 p.m. Thursday.
At the motel, the teenager allegedly offered to have sex with the officer for $160.
Police arrested her, then determined that the room had been rented by Darryl Vance, 50, of the 1000 block of Cheltenham Ave. in Oxford Circle. Officers spotted Vance in the lobby and arrested him. Vance allegedly had a gun.
Police did not release the name of the girl because of her age. She was charged with prostitution, solicitation and conspiracy.
Vance was charged with promoting prostitution, corrupting a minor and conspiracy. ••
