Somerton meeting postponed to Jan. 14

The Somerton Civic Association meeting originally scheduled for Dec. 10 has been postponed until Tuesday, Jan. 14, due to snow. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at Walker Lodge 306, 1290 Southampton Road.

The agenda includes a presentation by a representative from Catholic Community Services, who will discuss the agency’s various programs and services designed to help families and individuals. In addition, civic association members will be informed about recent zoning issues in the neighborhood, including a proposal for the expansion of Bull Shooters Saloon (the former Whiskey Tango and John’s Boardwalk Bar and Grill) at 14000 Bustleton Ave. According to the SCA’s December newsletter, the owner of the property has applied to increase the number of second-floor apartments there from 30 to 41.
