A Frankford man has been arrested for robbing two Center City banks and another in Mayfair early last month.

Members of the Philadelphia Police Major Crimes/FBI Violent Crimes Task Force arrested William Edwards, 32, on Dec. 17 at his home on the 4400 block of E. Wingohocking St. Edwards allegedly used demand notes to rob the PNC Bank at 1801 Market St. on Dec. 2, the Citizens Bank at 7327 Frankford Ave. on Dec. 9 and the Susquehanna Bank at 1845 Walnut St. on Dec. 13.

That afternoon, members of the task force and the Philadelphia Highway Patrol arrested the suspect without incident. ••
