Armed robbers sought in three 7-Eleven heists

Armed robbers have struck at three 7-Eleven stores in the same Northeast Philadelphia police district since late December.

Detectives seek the public’s help in identifying the crooks. Surveillance video from all three heists is available for public viewing via the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube.com.

The latest crime occurred at about 6:45 p.m. last Thursday at 5028 Frankford Ave. in Frankford. One gunman and his accomplice entered the store and demanded money. The crooks forced employees to the floor, took an unspecified amount of cash from the register and fled on foot. They were last seen traveling west on Dyre Street.

The gunman was described as Hispanic, 20 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds with a thin build. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and a mask. He carried a revolver.

The accomplice was described as Hispanic, 20 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 200 pounds. He wore a black jacket with a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Previously, robbers struck at two Mayfair 7-Eleven stores within about seven hours.

On Dec. 22 at 7:22 p.m., a gunman and an accomplice entered the store at 2900 Cottman Ave. and announced a robbery.

The crooks forced employees and at least one customer to the floor, then took an undisclosed amount of cash from two registers as well as a customer. The robbers were last seen running toward Brous Avenue.

The gunman was described as black, 20 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds with a thin build. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt.

The accomplice was described as black, 20 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 200 pounds. He wore a black jacket with a blue hooded sweatshirt and white sneakers.

On Dec. 23 at 2:35 a.m., two other robbers, both armed with handguns, entered the 7-Eleven at 3301 Tyson Ave. and demanded money. The crooks forced two employees to surrender cash from the registers and cigarettes. They fled on foot and were last seen eastbound on Tyson Avenue toward Frankford Avenue. One of the robbers was seen inside the store about 15 minutes prior to the hold-up.

One gunman was described as black, 22 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 130 pounds and thin. He wore a dark shirt, white mask, black hat, camouflage pants and black sneakers.

The other gunman was described as black, 22 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 130 pounds and thin. He wore a light tan jacket, light-colored hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and purple and red sneakers.
