The Times would like to thank all of the people who contributed to our Eleanor Smylie Community Fund.

This was the 58th year that the people of the Northeast have contributed money to the fund, which helps needy families during the Christmas season.

The Times mailed more than $9,600 in gift cards to individuals and organizations that help the less fortunate during the holidays.

The gift cards, to local supermarkets and department stores, helped people prepare a holiday dinner and purchase Christmas presents.
