Armed robber sought in 7-Eleven heist

An armed robber struck at an Upper Holmesburg 7-Eleven store on Feb. 11.

Police have released surveillance video of the heist, which occurred at about 4:55 a.m. at 9001 Frankford Ave. The robber initially posed as a patron, picked up an item from one of the shelves and carried it to the cashier’s counter. The crook then handed money to the clerk as if to pay for the item. But when the clerk opened the register, the robber pulled a gun and demanded cash.

The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen running through the parking lot toward Tolbut Street. He was described as white, about 30 years old, 165 to 180 pounds, with a medium build, a thick mustache, a black hoodie jacket, blue jeans, black boots and a mask.

Visit the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube.com to view the surveillance video. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPDTIP to report information. ••
