A gang of four thugs, including one with a gun, held up two young men on a well-traveled Holmesburg streetcorner last month. Police are still trying to identify the robbers.
The shakedown occurred on the 8000 block of Frankford Ave. at about 3:45 a.m. on Jan. 18 when four men, all in their late teens or early 20s, approached two victims, ages 20 and 23. One of the crooks pulled a gun as he and one accomplice forced the victims into a nearby alley.
With the victims facing a wall, the robbers stole cash and cell phones from their pockets, then fled on foot. The crooks were last seen walking south on Frankford Avenue, then east on Rhawn Street.
All four robbers were described as black and about 20 years old. One was about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 185 pounds with a red hoodie sweatshirt, blue jeans and a mask. Another was about 6 feet 2 inches tall with a light complexion, a gray hoodie sweatshirt, blue jeans and a mask. A third crook has a medium complexion and wore a blue hoodie. A fourth has a light complexion and wore a gray hoodie.
