Update: Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of Christopher Moore, 43, in connection with the following robbery. After releasing video of the crime to the public, police received several civilian tips about the identity of the alleged robber. Officers arrested Moore on Tuesday at his home on the 1600 block of Van Kirk St.

St. Patrick’s Day may end up being lucky after all for Philadelphia detectives investigating the early Monday armed robbery of a Burholme convenience store because surveillance cameras captured clear, sharp images of the unidentified gunman.

Police released the video to the public on Monday afternoon. The heist occurred at about 12:18 a.m. when a man entered the Wawa at 800 Cottman Ave., asked a clerk for a pack of cigarettes, pulled a handgun on the clerk and demanded cash, police said.

The robber obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled. He was last seen walking northbound on Rockwell Avenue from Cottman Avenue.

The robber was described as white, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build and short brown hair. He wore a black puffy jacket, gloves, black pants and black shoes.
