Training sessions will help teens with interview skills

There will be a youth career boot camp in Frankford on two consecutive June Saturdays, Assistant Managing Director Sanya Brown, PhillyRising’s Frankford coordinator, told residents on March 10.

The tentative dates and times will be June 7 and 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Brown said during a session at the Frankford branch of the Free Library. The location will be announced, she said.

Kids need to learn some basics like interviewing skills and how to fill out job applications, Brown said, and asked residents for some ideas on what to include in the program.

One resident suggested including teaching teens how to dress.

PhillyRising’s next meeting will be 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14, at the library, Frankford Avenue and Overington Street. ••
