Tips lead police to robbery arrest

It took the public less than a day to finger a Frankford man for the armed robbery of a Wawa in Burholme on March 17.

The St. Patrick’s Day heist occurred at 800 Cottman Ave. According to police, Christopher Moore, 43, of the 1600 block of Van Kirk St., entered the store shortly after noon, pointed a gun at a clerk and demanded money. The worker gave Moore an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before Moore fled, police said.

Police released video of the crime later that day. A short time later, anonymous tipsters contacted investigators to identify the alleged robber. Police arrested Moore at his home on March 18. ••
