Fatal stabbing in Lawndale home

A North Philadelphia man was stabbed to death inside a Lawndale home on Sunday morning, but police have released few details about the slaying.

Officers went to the 6100 block of Hasbrook Ave. at 5:39 a.m. in response to a 911 call reporting “a person with a weapon.” Luionel Perez, 21, of the 2700 block of N. Sixth St. was inside the residence suffering from a stab wound of the neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:52 a.m.

Officially, police have named no suspects or declared a motive in the slaying. But CBS-3 reported that a woman called 911 to report the incident, then left the scene before cops arrived. The TV station cited an unnamed police source. ••
