Burholme community group sponsors children’s contest

The Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association is sponsoring a writing and drawing contest for children in kindergarten through eighth grades.

Children are invited to convey what they like about Burholme. Possible angles include play areas, school, dining and sports.

A paragraph and picture should be included on an 8½-by-11-inch piece of paper. Entrants can use crayons, paints, markers, pens, pencils and cut paper.

The deadline to enter is April 30. Students at Kennedy Crossan, Immanuel Lutheran and Presentation BVM must submit their entries to their principal.

Students from other schools can send entries to Burholme Town Watch and Civic Association, ℅ United Methodist Church of the Redeemer, 1128 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111. Entries can also be dropped into the church mailbox on Lawndale Avenue.
