A 19-year-old man is dead after a home invasion and shooting on Monday morning in the Northeast’s Wooden Bridge Run section.
The violence occurred at about 10:23 a.m. in an apartment building on the 9400 block of Fairgreen Lane, said Officer Leeloni Palmiero, a police department spokeswoman. The victim’s girlfriend told police that she heard someone trying to kick in the door of his second-floor apartment. After she ducked into a closet for cover, the girlfriend heard a gunshot. She exited the closet and saw her boyfriend staggering onto a bed with a single wound of the chest.
The girlfriend said she did not see the unidentified intruder, who fled the scene in an unknown direction. Paramedics pronounced the 19-year-old dead at the scene within minutes. Authorities have not released his name. Detectives are trying to determine a motive in the case. ••
