State police covering Philadelphia, Delaware and Montgomery counties reported that there were zero traffic fatalities in the territory during the Easter holiday enforcement period, but troopers issued 577 traffic citations, including 35 for driving while under the influence.
The enforcement period ran from Friday, April 18, through Sunday, April 20. Members of the state police’s Troop K investigated 52 traffic crashes that resulted in 11 injuries, but no fatalities. None of those crashes were alcohol-related. Among the 577 traffic citations issued, 163 were for speeding and 39 for seatbelt or child safety seat violations. ••
