Twelve Northeast residents were among 44 men arrested by Philadelphia police in a series of prostitution stings between April 28 and May 22.
In each instance, the alleged “Johns” offered cash to undercover officers in exchange for the promise of sex, police said. Each suspect was arrested on charges including patronizing prostitution and solicitation. Police seized at least 24 vehicles and about $8,700 cash.
Northeast men caught up in the stings included Houston Chasteen, 55, of the 800 block of Fanshawe St.; Richard Moss, 71, of the 1500 block of Womrath St.; Muharrem Mustafa, 53, of the 4700 block of Howell St.; Mohammed Chokrafi, 41, of the 7800 block of Dungan Road; Victor M. Jimenez, 34, of the 4600 block of Josephine St.; Jorge Lugo Jr., 39, of the 2300 block of Margaret St.; Angel Luis Vasquez Jr., 40, of the 7100 block of Walker St.; Luis Lozano-Bernal, 45, of the 600 block of Lawler St.; John Stephen Davidson, 31, of the 6300 block of Crafton St.; Joseph Gambino, 24, of the 3300 block of Morning Glory Road; JoJo K. Thazhathel, 57, of the 9300 block of Laramie Road; and Bhardwaj Yoginder Mohan, 60, of the 9900 block of Haldeman Ave. ••
