Man shot in Wissinoming attempted robbery

A 24-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound of the shoulder during an attempted robbery in Wissinoming last Thursday.

The man and his girlfriend were walking in the area of Frankford and Cheltenham avenues at about 1 a.m. when a gray car occupied by three men approached them. The crooks pointed a gun at the couple, said Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum of Northeast Detectives.

As the couple ran, gunshots rang out with one of the slugs striking the male victim’s right shoulder. The assailants fled in an unknown direction. The wounded man was treated at Aria Health-Torresdale and released.

No arrests have been made in the case. The robbers were described as three black man. One is 6 feet 3 inches tall and heavy-set with a beard. He wore a gray hoodie. A second robber was described only as 5 feet 7 inches. tall. No further description was available for the third robber. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPDTIP to report information about the case. ••
