Police were called to 151 Byberry Road in Somerton at about 3:15 p.m. after a man removed the money tray from inside the clear plastic collection box. Surveillance video from the store showed the man roaming the store and lingering intermittently at the front counter where the Children’s Miracle Network box had been placed. The suspect appeared to manipulate a lock on the box before removing the tray and slipping it beneath a magazine that he held in his hands.

He fled in an unknown direction and was described as white, 40 years old with blonde hair and a distinctive T-shirt with a blue and white blotchy pattern. He also wore gray shorts and black sneakers.
