A Northeast Philadelphia woman died in a two-vehicle crash at a Crescentville intersection last Thursday morning.
The tragedy occurred at about 9:20 a.m. at Tabor and Godfrey avenues. According to police, a 71-year-old man was driving a green Toyota Corolla southbound on Tabor when he attempted a left-hand turn onto Godfrey. The car collided with a blue van that was traveling northbound.
A woman passenger in the Corolla died at the scene. The city medical examiner identified her as Fermina Vera, 53, of the Northeast. She died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries.
The 71-year-old man suffered critical head and leg injuries and was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center. An adult man was driving the van and reported no injuries, police said. No charges have been filed. ••
