Thief swipes pipes from Tacony home

Surveillance photo

Workers on a home renovation project in Tacony took a break on Sunday, June 1, so a burglar went to work. He used luggage on wheels to tote copper pipes and power tools from the job site.

A surveillance camera filmed the man as he broke into the unoccupied house at about 9 a.m. He exited the property, then returned with the travel bags in tow. He spent about two hours inside the house then fled southbound on Keystone Street in a red Ford Taurus with a sunroof.

He was described as white, 20 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a beard, gray baseball cap, dark shirt and blue basketball shorts with white stripes. He also wore white socks and black sneakers. Visit the Philadelphia Police channel on YouTube.com to view the surveillance video. Call 215–686-TIPS or text to PPDTIP to report information. ••
