Two state representatives, one current and one former, joined the Omagh Thunder and Somerton Spartans under-14 boys basketball teams for an international friendly basketball game held at Somerton on July 5.

State Rep. Brendan Boyle set up the game between the Spartans and Omagh after learning that the visitors from County Tyrone in Ireland were in the midst of a multicity tour of the United States. Former state Rep. George Kenney is a volunteer with the Somerton Youth Organization.

After the scrimmage game, Boyle posted on his Facebook page, “Had a great time watching some fantastic young athletes for both teams, as well as talking to their parents and other supporters of youth athletics in Northeast Philadelphia.” ••
