A quarrel over a girlfriend sparked stabbings at a Holmesburg house party early Sunday that left a 21-year-old man and 18-year-old woman hospitalized with knife wounds, police said.
The alleged attacker surrendered to Northeast Detectives late Sunday, according to Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum, although police have not released the 23-year-old’s identity. Investigators identified him with the help of witnesses to the rampage.
The stabbings occurred at about 3:30 a.m. inside a house on the 3500 block of Welsh Road. There was a party going on there when someone called 911. Paramedics were first to arrive and found the injured man with a wound of the head and the injured woman with a wound to the right side of her abdomen. Both were taken to Aria Health-Torresdale and listed in stable condition.
The alleged attacker surrendered at the Harbison Avenue and Levick Street police station and was charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and possessing an instrument of crime. ••
