Beaver
Detectives didn’t have to spend very long chewing over the evidence in a July 14 knifepoint robbery of a Franklin Mills gas station. Marc J. Beaver basically did the investigating for them, police claim.
Beaver allegedly left behind a debit card — his own debit card — while fleeing the Lukoil station at 220 Franklin Mills Circle. A clerk recovered the card and gave it to police, who identified the alleged crook by reading the name on the card. Police found Beaver, 40, at his home on the 3900 block of Rowena Drive on July 15 and arrested him. Beaver was charged with the gas station heist, as well as a similar robbery at Wawa, 10550 Knights Road, earlier on July 14.
The gas station hold-up occurred at about 6:35 p.m. when Beaver attempted to buy a cigarette lighter using his debit card, then pulled a knife on a clerk and demanded money, police said. The employee refused the demand and chased Beaver from the shop.
Beaver had better success about 18 hours earlier when he allegedly went to the Wawa, approached the counter with a candy bar and handed a $1 bill to the cashier. When the employee opened the register, Beaver allegedly pulled a blade and grabbed the contents of the register before fleeing. ••
