Labor Day is just a few days away, and that means the Congregations of Ner Zedek will be packed with fans of Broadway music.
The popular Broadway Sings professional concert production will be at Ner Zedek, at 7520 Bustleton Ave. in Rhawnhurst, on Monday, Sept. 1, at 1:30 p.m. The performers are current and former stars of Broadway hit shows. They will be at the synagogue for the ninth time. Firstrust Bank is the prime sponsor of the concert, which will benefit Ner Zedek.
The songs will come from popular shows such as Cats, The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia!, Les Miserables, The Producers, Rent, Miss Saigon, Chicago, Beauty and the Beast, Jekyll & Hyde and Wicked.
Charles Bergell, who co-founded the company in 2003 and serves as executive producer, will be the master of ceremonies.
Reserved seating costs $40 apiece. The cost is $54 for preferred seating, which includes a post-concert reception. There will also be a raffle, with six tickets sold for $5. Cash prizes will be awarded at intermission. ••
