On Friday, the Northeast will celebrate the grand opening of the newest place to get a cup of coffee, Anthony’s Café Espresso, 4741 Princeton St. Celebrity gourmet coffee expert Todd Carmichael, who stars in the Discovery network’s Dangerous Grounds, will be on hand at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5.
The cafe is owned by Anthony Cancelliere, who credits the Tacony Community Development Corporation and the city’s Commerce Department for helping make the new business possible, according to a CDC news release.
“The city’s Commerce Department was critical in getting the café’s storefront renovated to create its classic neighborhood feel which makes it stand out as a destination business. The café is part of a recent string of businesses that have decided to locate in Tacony,” according to the CDC.
The cafe’s grand opening will take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Individuals will receive a free cup of coffee upon signing a sign-in sheet.
