Suspects sought in grocery store heist

A couple of creative burglars busted open a back door and cut through a wall to break into a Summerdale grocery store on Sept. 13, but they apparently didn’t account for the surveillance cameras inside, according to police.

The crime occurred at about 11 p.m. at Aracena Grocery Store, 898 Granite St. After gaining entry to the property, the unidentified burglars stole cash and various groceries valued at about $5,000, police said.

One bandit was described as black, 40 years old, with a medium build, a goatee beard, a hooded jacket, long pants and white sneakers. The other guy was described as black, 40 years old, with a thin build, light mustache, close-cropped hair, a jacket and long pants.
