Deadline approaches for vote registry

The deadline is Monday, Oct. 6, to register to vote for the Nov. 4 general election.

In the general election, voters will elect candidates for governor, lieutenant governor, U.S. House of Representatives, and state House and Senate. Voters can visit www.VotesPA.com to check their registration status, download a voter registration form and find information on their polling place.

Applications from city residents registering for the first time, changing their address or changing their party affiliation must be postmarked or delivered to Philadelphia County Board of Elections, Room 142 City Hall, Philadelphia, PA 19107 by the close of business on Oct. 6.

Individuals applying to register to vote must be a citizen of the United States; a resident of Pennsylvania for at least 30 days before the election; and at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day.

Residents may apply in person at PennDOT photo and driver’s license centers and armed forces recruitment centers.
