Northeast barber shot four times

A Northeast barber was wounded four times when a gunman fired a hail of bullets at his shop on Monday night, police said.

The violence occurred at Castor’s Finest Barbershop, 7112 Castor Ave., shortly before 9 p.m. Police have not released the identity of the victim, who was wounded in the left leg, right arm and right shoulder, along with a graze wound of the head. Paramedics took the man to Aria Health’s Torresdale Campus in critical condition. A police commander at the scene told reporters that the victim was expected to survive.

Published reports identified the barber as 33 years old. He had recently purchased the shop, which was closed and under renovations, the Daily News reported.

Police believe two assailants were involved. They fled in an unknown direction. No weapons were recovered. A motive is not known. ••
