Suspects sought in nightclub armed robbery

Suburban police want to know if any Northeast Philly folks saw a group of masked men traveling in a distinctive canary yellow convertible Ford Mustang early last Friday. They’re likely the same guys who robbed a Bensalem nightclub at gunpoint.

A group of three to five men carried out the takeover-style heist at Bar Louie, 600 Rockhill Drive, starting at about 2:45 a.m. First, the crooks confronted an employee as he exited the nightclub. They forced him to re-enter the business, where several other workers were preparing to leave following their late-night shift.

One of the crooks pointed a pistol at the victims, while another brandished a stun gun and a third waved a butcher knife. The bandits zapped one employee with the stun gun as they herded the victims into a walk-in freezer, police said. The employee suffered a minor injury.

The robbers swiped employees’ personal belongings, including cash, cell phones and keys, and broke into the nightclub’s safe, stealing an undisclosed amount of cash. The robbers stole one worker’s yellow Mustang and fled in it.

Police found the car abandoned on the 3000 block of Derry Road in the Northeast a short time later.

The robbers were described as three to five black or Hispanic men. They wore ski masks and dark clothing. One of the robbers called another “Taz” during the crime, police said. Call 215–633–3719 to report information. ••
