Police have released more information about the Oct. 13 shooting of a barber in Castor Gardens, including surveillance video of the two men who allegedly took part in the violent attack.
Gunfire erupted shortly before 9 p.m. at Castor’s Finest Barber Shop, 7112 Castor Ave., police said. The 33-year-old barber told investigators that an unidentified man entered the business and asked for a haircut. The barber sat the patron in a chair, placed an apron on him and turned to retrieve a razor. That’s when the patron pulled a gun from beneath the apron and began shooting.
The barber suffered wounds of the left thigh, right shoulder and right chest, along with a graze wound of the head. He was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale in critical condition. Police have not disclosed his updated medical status.
After the gunfire, a second unknown man entered the shop and picked up the empty shell casings from the floor. Both assailants then fled. The shooter was described as black, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds with a medium complexion, short hair and medium beard. The second suspect was described as black, 30 to 35 years old, with a dark complexion, dreadlocks or braids and a beard.
